Amy Sokolow Lead vocals/guitar
Amy, 17, is a senior at Lynnfield High School. She is an active member of her school’s music department, including the Chamber Singers, the school’s a capella group, and the school musicals, the most recent being Legally Blonde. She has also gone to many summer programs with a focus in music, including French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts and Passport NYC. She was chosen to participate in the Northeast Senior District Festival chorus as well. She has taken voice lessons for 7 years and guitar for 4 years. She is also very involved in the local Jewish community, including taking part in Y2I, a trip to Israel, and teaching at Temple Ner Tamid’s religious school, among other things.
Sam Feinstein Bass/Piano/Vocals
Sam, 18, is a senior at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. At school, he is a member of its award-winning concert and jazz bands, for which he arranges music, and the school’s wind ensembles and chorus. He is also a member of Handel Haydn’s Young Men’s Chorus and Salem Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. He is involved in a teen ska band, The Sea Bees, which has recorded a demo and plays in the Boston area. He participated in Brandeis University’s BIMA camp for young Jewish artists. He has organized many events, including PlanUSA and the Massachusetts Youth Arts Festival. He studies music theory, piano, and classical and jazz bass. He also went on Y2I, a trip to Israel.
Lauren Sliva saxophone
Lauren, 17, is a Junior at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, where she is an honor student. At school, Lauren is a member of its award-winning Concert, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Bands. Lauren is the saxophonist in the Temple Beth Shalom - Peabody's Ruach Band. Lauren plays both the Alto and Tenor Saxophones. She began playing saxophone at the age of 11, and has been playing for 6 years. Lauren is also very involved in the local Jewish community, including taking part in Y2I, a trip to Israel, and teaching 2nd Grade at Temple Beth Shalom's Religious School.
Janna Sokolow Piano/Vocals
Janna, 15, is a sophomore at Lynnfield High School. She is an active member of her school’s music department, including the Chamber Singers, the school’s a capella group, and the school musicals, the most recent being Legally Blonde. She has also attended French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts. She currently studies voice with Noel Smith and piano with Larry Boyle. Janna was chosen to participate in the Northeast Junior District Festival, is an active member of the Jewish community, and recently was a JTI at the Marblehead JCC’s Summer on the Hill summer camp.
Gabe Goldman drums
Gabe, 12, is a seventh grader at Higgins Middle School in Peabody, where he was their spelling bee champion. At Higgins, he also paricipates in their Big Band and Jazz Ensemble. Gabe has been drumming since the age of 3, and appeared on the local TV show Community Auditions at age 6. At age 8, he played a solo performance at Peabody’s International Festival. He also plays regularly as a guest drummer in the Donn Carr Jazz Band. He has previously appeared as the Little Drummer Boy in the City of Peabudy Holiday Concert. He is a member of Temple Beth Shalom’s Ruach Band. Gabe was recently accepted into the Northeast Massachusetts Youth Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Gabe is taking both drum and piano lessons and is writing original compositions.
